Asja Saulitis’ Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients


  • 1-2 packages of fresh cranberries

  • ½-1 cup of soft dried apples, chopped

  • ½ -1 cup of chopped dried apricots

  • ½-¾ cup of dried unsweetened cherries

  • 1-2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1 cup orange or apple juice

  • ½-1 tsp additional ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground ginger

  • ¼ tsp. Ground cloves

  • ⅓-1 c. of granulated sugar

Preparation


  1. Combine washed fresh cranberries, dried apples, dried apricots, dried cherries, cinnamon sticks and juice in a medium saucepan.

  2. Heat over medium heat until cranberries start to pop and soften slightly (about 10 minutes).

  3. Add spices and stir vigorously to distribute evenly.

  4. Add sugar to taste to your preference for tartness vs. sweetness.

Serve warm or prepare in advance and serve chilled from the fridge!
